SOUTHERN STYLE

PRISS AND SASS WITH A SPLASH OF GRANDEUR AND OPULENCE

A Southern Lady is full of style and sass.  Both in her way of dressing, her make-up, and her elegant home.  Opulence is a way of life. And it doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg.  Save your limbs for the rising cost of gasoline!!

LET'S GET STARTED:

The categories here on this page will include all the elements of Southern Style such as:
Skin-care, make-up, fashion, home and garden, entertaining, and of course, shoes!
Cinderella, Dorothy, and Carrie Bradshaw have already taught us the value of a great pair of shoes!

SKIN CARE 101:

My Grandmother, on my mother's side, the original pearl wearing Southern Belle, was a skin care specialist, and a make-up artist for the Miss Alabama pageants when I was very young.  I got my education early Y'all!

Todays Must Do: "Whatever you do to your face you must always do your neck."  My Grandmother always said as if it were a religious mantra.  MOISTURIZE!!!!  I am running, sprinting at top speed from aging.  I know it will catch me, but it's gonna need a net!  I am religious about skin care.  When I was 8 years old my Grandmother gave me my first bar of Neutrogena.  I was taught to have a routine of  skin care for both morning and night.  Of course it has progressed quite a bit since I was a little girl.  NEVER EVER go to bed with your make up on.   That's another thing I learned very early from Nanny...That's what I called her.  "No all night party is worth a single wrinkle!"  she'd say.  And she was RIGHT!
Here is one of my favorite concoctions for a wonderful homemade body and facial  moisturizer/scrub...

Brown Sugar-Olive Oil Scrub

Don't spend your money on pricey scrubs; make your own with brown sugar and olive oil. It exfoliates away all the dry skin, moisturizes what's underneath, increases your skin's circulation and can improve the appearance of cellulite.

For gorgeously smooth skin, combine roughly three parts brown sugar with one part olive oil (11/2 cups to 1/2 cup; 3
cups to 1 cup, and so on). Before you shower, stand in your bathtub and apply the scrub with your hands to your body and rub. Be gentle, as this is quite abrasive, but you can be a bit rougher where your skin is thicker and drier (i.e. your feet). Rinse off in the shower, and you'll find there's no need to moisturize afterwards.

Afterwards you'll smell good enough to eat!

This is good for men too!

Happy Indulgences Y'all!
